Experience. Competence. Trust
Client trust is a valuable asset. It grows from the certainty of having placed the multilingual communication at your event in capable hands.
This competence is not a gift from heaven. It builds up gradually , over a period of years and decades, throughout a successful professional career. I would like to invite you to benefit from my almost 25 years of job experience as a freelance conference interpreter and as an interpreter trainer at the Faculty of Translation Studies, Linguistics and Cultural Studies at Germersheim (University of Mainz).
Interpreters are among the few surviving generalists in our world of more narrowly focused experts. However, most interpreters do develop a special expertise in particular areas of interest and competence. I consider the areas of politics, the law and sports to be among my "core competencies", which have developed thanks to my personal, sometimes passionate, interest in them and a resulting wealth of experience.
