Volker Raatz Interpreting Services
Volker Raatz (born in 1963 in Bielefeld) studied at the Faculty of Translation Studies, Linguistics and Cultural Studies (FTSK) of the University of Mainz at Germersheim from 1984-1990. He spent the academic year of 1987/88 at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Binghamton/New York State thanks to a scholarship from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD. In the summer semester 1990, he earned his graduate degree in Conference Interpreting for English and French.
Since 1990, he has also worked as an interpreter trainer/lecturer at the Interpreter Training Unit of the Faculty, which has kept him in close touch with the latest scientific developments in the field of interpreting studies.
Since 1991, he has been working as a freelance conference interpreter for German and English.
In 2002, he started the interpreting company Volker Raatz Interpreting Services.
